Knife Collector
This program was written for collectors of W. R. Case & Sons knives by a collector of Case knives. While it was written for Case collectors it will work for any knife manufacturer who has a knife pattern similar to Case. I have been collecting Case knives for about fifty years and so I started writing this program about three years ago for my own use. For some reason I got busy and it sort of fell by the wayside. My youngest son had been collecting knives and about a year ago I gave him a lifetime membership in the Case Collectors Club. I heard tales about creating a monster but now I really believe them. He has gotten rid of the junk knives that he was "collecting" and is now collecting Case knives only. He also started bugging me about this program. With his strong urging and the support of a few others I dug it out and started to finish it. I must admit that it has turned out much larger than I originally designed it however in my opinion it is also much more useful. My son then suggested that we put the program out as shareware and offer it to other knife collectors. I finally relented and we are on our way. The program is a very good tool for keeping track of your collection, where it is stored, and what it is worth. It should also be very useful for insurance purposes. It allows for percentage increases (or decreases) to the value of any group of knives. I have tried to make it as simple as possible to use and hope I have succeeded in that effort. There are probably some things which I have left out of the program which some collectors would like to have. I am open to any and all suggestions on how to improve the usefulness of the program.
